Hi, and welcome! I’m Melissa, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in Charleston, SC. I love to cook and eat. I love eating more, and I do so without diet rules or restrictions.
I love nothing more than sharing recipes and nutrition with not even a whiff of guilt. I’m here to help you figure out what health and wellness mean to you through Intuitive Eating. I cook with all foods to create nourishing meals without restriction or fear.
A little about me
I grew up in a small town just north of Pittsburgh, PA. Growing up, my father was a chef and owned his own restaurant for a time, which was profoundly influential in my love of cooking. College took me way down south to Clemson University, where I studied Food Science and Human Nutrition, a place where I could combine science with the culinary arts. Eventually, I completed my nutrition internship through the Medical University of South Carolina in beautiful, sunny Charleston, where I still reside. My weekends are spent eating and exploring Charleston with my husband, Cory, and pup, Archie, in tow.

My goal is to help my clients cut through the BS and find simplicity in evidenced-based treatment for nourishing themselves and their families. My Food Blog
I launched my food blog in 2018 to share my favorite meals and recipes –things that I’m so grateful for in life, hence A Grateful Meal was born. One thing you won’t find in my recipes is calorie counts, as I prefer to count my blessings over my calories, which is so much more valuable.
